The water pressure was a real bummer. It was like a strategic game flush the toilet or take a shower without interruption from other guests. The overall decor felt a bit dark and tired, with cleanliness issues in shared spaces, like debris on the floor during breakfast. Lounge noise was a bit problematic too, especially during busy hours. Some soundproofing wouldn't go amiss when you're trying to catch some Z's. The breakfast options were limited, leaving something to be desired compared to other classic properties.

Loved my stay here and recommend it. The room I was given was new-fashioned and recently decorated with wonderful view, the bedroom, as for instance. The service was great, the food was savoury.
Its breakfast should have been included.

Where it excels and where it fails
The location was beautiful, with lovely walks along the canal, and the staff were both friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was particularly delicious.
Dining service was inconsistent, with slow wait times and a few items unavailable on the menu. Some dishes did not meet expectations, leaving a disappointing dining experience.

The food quality varied quite a bit . The shepherd's pie was decent, but there wasn't much lamb in it. Desserts were lovely, a nice surprise. Breakfast needed improvement. I ordered a full English breakfast, and although it was freshly cooked, the wait time felt excessive. On one morning, they lacked basic items like yogurt and eggs, frustrating. The location beside the canal was picturesque, perfect for walks. My room was clean, but the layout felt cramped. Soundproofing was good, as I didn't hear the pub noise at night. The ambiance of the place was charming, but efficiency could be enhanced.

The room was surprisingly spacious, with a big bed and a bright bathroom that felt cozy. I particularly enjoyed the lovely walk by the canal, perfect for an afternoon stroll. Breakfast could use some organization to improve the flow, as it took longer than expected to be served.
